OUR STORY

Having grown up in Korea, Doyeon moved to the U.S. at the age of 30. She personally experienced and witnessed the difficulties encountered by immigrant women in returning to the paid workforce due to cultural differences, a language barrier and lack of professional network. Doyeon herself was once a full-time mother raising two kids and paused her career for a couple of years. During that time, she met a lot of talented stay-at-home moms who wanted to return to work but didn't know how to start. That is how Simple Steps Community Connection was born. Simple Steps hopes to build a community where immigrant women struggling with low self-esteem and a career gap share their stories, explore opportunities, and encourage each other to actively engage in their community and move toward achieving their goals.
